Montenegro: Ethnic distance research
As part of the Minority Rights in Practice project in Montenegro, the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) conducted a quantitative survey on ethnic distance in Montenegro, using the Bogardus scale.
The results highlight a society that is still, a year after independence highly politicised, especially concerning the leadership of the state by someone of a different nationality than one’s own. The greatest interethnic distance found to be between Montenegrins and Albanians. There are, nevertheless, signs that ethnic tolerance is increasing.
